Our Ute CrossFit Sugarhouse On Ramp is how you start off on the right path to reach your goals. Coached by a CrossFit certified trainer and delivered in small group sessions, the on ramp is developed to get you to your first class with the knowledge you need to be successful. The movement curriculum is sequential and you will receive a comprehensive understanding of the CrossFit program as well as learn the proper technique to our foundational movements.
One on one or small group training is a perfect way to get more comfortable with the movements before entering into group training. The coaches at Ute CrossFit Sugarhouse are dedicated to teaching you how to move and making sure you get a good sweat on.
In the Workout of the Day (WOD) you will perform constantly varied, functional movements, executed at high intensity. Each session will include a warm-up, skill and fundamentals practice, the WOD, and a cool down. The WODs are scaled and modified to each athlete’s level, and are performed at the highest intensity that the individual can sustain with good form and proper technique.
The advanced classes move at a much faster pace, with time allowed for individual work in specific areas. There will be a strength component prescribed daily. However, if athletes have specific programs/needs then they will be allowed to work on these areas on their own during the middle portion of the class. Specific work can be anything from foam rolling or stretching, to skill work on Oly Lifts. The format of all classes will be: short warm-up, skill work, weightlifting, and then a shorter Metcon WOD at the end.
The novice classes are open to any member of Ute CrossFit. In these classes, we will focus more on teaching and improving movement. These classes are suggested for clients who tend to scale more and may struggle with more advanced movements.
Our endurance and running focused classes give endurance athletes the unique opportunity to learn another significant way to train for any event they wish to compete in, all while getting faster and stronger. This class is meant as a supplement to WODs, but is available for all athletes. This program is running technique intensive, with a focus on full and half marathon training. Each session will include pose-running technique for the warm-up, then a possibility of strength work, followed by a tough endurance workout. Most workouts will be intense intervals, done on a rower, bike, or running outside.
Our free day care classes are open to all Ute CrossFit members, but are perfect for busy moms and dads! We want to keep your costs low and give you a stress free workout without worrying about your kids, so we implemented a very successful parent co-op. Parents coordinate with each other, and volunteer for childcare once or twice a month. This is a flexible and like-minded environment, which provides the unique opportunity to have your kids with you at the gym while you train.
For beginners and experienced athletes alike, this class provides technique driven skills and drills for those looking to improve these explosive lifts. This class is available for any athletes looking to improve their lifts.
We offer Big Dawg Kid WODs for ages 9 to 13, and Puppies Kids WODs for ages 5 to 8. Kids will work with a certified instructor to learn and perform functional movements in a fun and exciting atmosphere. We will also offer two week long Ute CrossFit Kids Summer Camps (more info coming soon).
Come in for active recovery. Warm-up, then work on some mobility exercises as a group. Finish with more mobility work specific to your needs and a cool down.
